Getting help from school
Asking school for help can feel daunting. Here’s how SEN support works, what to ask for, and how to get assessments, EHCPs (UK) or 504 plans (US). You know your child best.

Try this now
3 ten-minute steps before you talk to school
- Write your 3 biggest worries. Add a real example for each. Keep it short.
- Ask for a meeting with the SENCo. Take your notes and ask: “What support can you put in place now?”
- Get it in writing. Ask for the agreed actions and a review date by email.
Mooki cards help at home and in class while you wait for support.
