Routines and change
Meltdowns over a change of plan, trouble moving from one thing to the next, getting lost in the steps of everyday tasks. Visual routines and warnings help children feel safe and in control.

Try this now
3 ten-minute ideas for smoother days
- Make a visual timetable. Draw the day in pictures. Your child moves or ticks each one as it happens.
- Give a 5-minute warning. Before every change, say what’s happening next: “5 minutes, then shoes on for the park.”
- Use a First, then board. “First teeth, then story.” Two pictures, side by side.
All three ideas are on Mooki cards, with simple steps on the front and a child-friendly activity on the back.
